  1. About 70 years ago I wanted to go Hollywood ane the next Roy Rogers. My dad said NO. I was only 10 at the time.

  2. My brother spent 40 years in Hollywood as a makeup artist. He just retired and couldn’t wait to get out of there. I have a friend who moved 2 years ago and she is so glad to be back in the Midwest. I visited out there but I was glad to leave.

  3. Nothing is free in life and to get opportunities in the grand spot light has to come at a great personal cost. The same people who make you, can compromise you, will control you, will black ball you, or worse. Those with morals and integrity will not cross that line, others wish now they never did.

  4. I can think of three of my favorite sitcom actors from the ’60s who got out of Hollywood and moved back home. Tom Lester (Eb) from Green Acres ended up moving back to Mississippi and Larry Hovis (Carter) and Leon Askin (Burkhalter) of Hogan’s Heroes ended up moving back to Texas and Austria. In fact I wrote letters to all three and got really nice responses from them.
