Power corrupts & money corrupts power. Our Founders set the rules for Citizen Politicians to serve the people and then go back to their citizen jobs. Once a hard working tax paying citizen gets into their elected position & gets used to the influence & power of the purse & getting money for their decisions on bills morals & values go out the window. Greed & self gratification to keep the power & wealth becomes the ultimate goal. That’s why we have so many lifetime politicians that go into office somewhat middle to upper class that become millionaires or like Pelosi multi-millionaire. Only thing that would bring Government back to be run for the people & by the people is term limits & banning unethical insider trading by politicians & their families.
