The Hertz rental car company apparently doesn’t understand what “unlimited” means
It is a little frustrating when you purchase something and it is not exactly what you thought it was. But this gets a little more serious when you are an adult and signing contracts with [...]
It would take me more than two years to drive this far, but since the contract has no limit on the number of miles the car may be driven, this man may not be charged an extra $10,000 for driving this car for 25,000 miles in one month. I can understand the manager’s shock at seeing how many miles this car was driven, but a contract is a contract. When there are no exceptions in the contract for unlimited miles the manager is not permitted to add them after the fact.
the renter should have clarified this before leaving when renting……..if he would have told them i am driving around the earth with this car they would have refused to rent to him………that simple…that is abuse of a rental contract…..a judge may have awarded hertz 3 or 4 thousand because of the abuse..or more than 10000 if proven he damaged or shortened life of the vehicle…….lack of maintenance etc…
You’re not obligated to tell them where your going????
If I was the company I would have the speedometer checked to make sure that it was actually reading the right mileage.
Was it set to miles or was it set to kilometers or was it set to feet. It would be worth a check to see.
My thought exactly. Or who ever read the milage before the vehicle was rented made a mistake of what the milage was.
He achieved the damn near impossible feat of logging over 800 miles per day on that car. That’s pretty damn impressive on its own.
My family and I once rented a van upon our arrival to LAX for an 11 day Baseball Tournament, plus 6 extra days for sightseeing. We drove 6500+ miles, thankfully we had unlimited mileage. I cannot see how someone can put 25,000 miles in a month.
strange we drove from Grants Pass Or to
texarcana and back to Grants Pass and did not
have that meany miles on our car. Excuse the spelling .
how can he put that many miles on an EV in one month Period, 250 miles and now you charge it for 18 hrs, that car was on the charger more than it was on the Road.
Which is one reason I would NEVER buy an EV.
Where’s the result of the poll?
I’m trying to figure that out myself?
I don’t know how he drove that far in a month in an EV. I put a lot of miles on my car, truck and motorcycle but never 25,000 miles in one month and we traveled all over the US and Canada in 5 weeks and only put on 8500 miles. 15 minutes to gas up, no looking for EV chargers. Always keep your paperwork for a year in case of problems such as this. Having proof solves a lot of problems. That Herget guy was wrong.
It’s definitely a lot of miles! Of course, if you’re using the vehicle to do the UberX Rideshare, the miles can add up. I still think there was possibly a malfunction of the odometer.
SO, THE “CONSERVATIVE” SITE THAT CLAIMS TO SUPPORT FREE SPEECH IS ONCE AGAIN BLOCKING MY POSTS.
Common sense comments that are not offensive in any way.
Just another TWO-FACED Liberal site that pretends to be Conservative.
By the way, I have computerless friends who use mine from time to time to keep up. You’re blocking THEIR free speech too.
WTG, comrades.
