UNCONSTITUTIONAL! MOST MILITARY WILL DISOBEY!
Sad, and very much mis-directed. What should be authorized is the Border Patrol (or the military) to shoot any trespasser coming across the southern border without proper processing. I honestly believe that one bullet/one “migrant”, with the word quickly getting out would stem the tide as if a switch were turned off! Sorry for that one crosser, but we have (or at least used to have) laws here! And — we have MILLIONS who crossed illegally, and surely millions more will cross if nothing is done. I know, I know, Kamala is working on it…….

It is a question that can go either way. US. troops to help in catastrophes here in the mainland would be reasonable, But shooting down civilians based on the whims of a politician to silence their opponents, NO. That is unconstitutional.
The original intent was that the US military not be used against US citizens on US soil FOR POLITICAL REASONS.
But our southern border is wide open and MILLIONS of foreign invaders are pouring in virtually unopposed while POLITICIANS discus using the military against CITIZENS who disagree with their Unconstitutional agenda!
Things have gone 180 degrees hard about since DEMOCRATS went COMMUNIST. THAT is what we desperately need to address! WHERE ARE OUR DEFENDERS HIDING WHEN WE SO DESPERATELY NEED THEM? And where are loyal politicians when er need THEM??

IT IS MY OPINION AS A RETIRED LIEUTENANT COLONEL FROM THE ARMY, AFTER HAVING SERVED FROM 1976 TO 2003 THAT WE NEED TO USE OUR MILITARY TO SECURE OUR BORDERS BOTH NOTHERN AND SOUTHERN. WE ALSO NEED TO USE OUR MILITARY TO HELP THOSE STATES WHO ARE SUFFERING FOR THE LAST TWO STORMS.

I served the U.S. both on active duty for 20 years and as a civilian for another 20. I don’t believe our elected political representatives would be able to order our young men and women to shoot any citizen. Every person who serves, took an oath to defend the Constitution from all enemies both foreign or domestic. The military can assist those in need with help in natural disasters via a “Military Operation Other Than War.” However, no professional military person would follow the orders of some political appointee to fire upon their fellow Americans.
