The actual cost of buying and driving an EV has been cleverly suppressed, both by government and owners. The negatives are to many to go into here but just the initial price is enormous. Even with a government subsidy the average price is well over $60,000. The cost of a replacement battery, which has a replacement life of 10 to 15 years is $10,000 to $20,000 making the car worthless. They also don’t tell you that the battery starts degenerating immediately making the driving distance less each day.
From what I understand most automakers are putting electric on the back burner. Citing very low sales volumes. And the need to use space for great selling gasoline models.
Most people don’t understand the environmental impact of making lithium ion batteries, let alone the manufacturer of those batteries, the recycling of the batteries that are dead A lot of the products that are needed to make those batteries are mind in foreign countries with no regulation whatsoever. In fact, slave, labor, and child labor are the ones mining the components to give Americans these lithium ion batteries. just the mining practices alone are ruining our environment. Our electrical grid can’t handle the extra juice that it takes to charge these vehicles. It’s a travesty as what it is, and our government is perpetuating it. All I can say is disgusting!
