I think the idea of Greenland is excellent
Trump ignores the PM, wants the PEOPLE of Greenland to vote if they want to become American citizens free to roam the planet and welcome everywhere like Americans are…
Yeah, let the people decide whom they want to ‘possess’ them. I don’t think the President wants to ‘rule’ over Greenland. I do think he wants strategic military and mineral rights possibly. But not without giving Greenland a fair price for their land/services.
How about it wasn’t an idea of really buying Greenland. For years Greenland was discussed as a strategic location for defense purposes and this was the best opportunity to bring them to the table, for discussions, to create an alliance with the US. They are for now a neutral country with no defense and closet to the polar region.
Only if the people of Greenland vote by a super majority to become part of the U.S. It’s not up to Denmark or America, the people of Greenland should have the say.

I don’t think it’s necessary as we already have very close ties to Greenland and Greenlanders. If the people of Greenland decide on independence we could create even closer ties and create an economic exclusive agreement to open access to the islands resources benefitting they and America while allowing Greenlanders to still be Greenlanders.
